Kristen E. Pope is a Jackson, Wyoming-based freelance writer and editor who specializes in outdoor adventure, science, conservation, travel, and beer writing. Her work has been published by NationalGeographic.com, Backpacker, Audubon.com, Discover, Western Confluence, Northwest Travel, Roots Rated, The Penny Hoarder, The Write Life, Draft, Beer Advocate, and Planning Magazine, among other publications. She is also the managing editor of JHStyle Magazine.
Before delving into the writing life, she worked in Denali National Park (Alaska) as a living history interpreter and worked as a science educator in museums and state parks throughout the country. She even coaxed reluctant insect-lovers to pet Madagascar hissing cockroaches. Kristen also has a master’s degree in Natural Resources from Humboldt State University on California’s redwood coast.
